Pricing is for the pair of crossovers, and a crossover schematic will be provided. Crossover “kits” do not have any additional markup above the component costs. You are only paying for the actual components provided.

This speaker originally included only a single electrolytic capacitor (high-pass filter) on each of the two smaller drivers. The low capacitance values in the design, allow for very affordable upgrade options. The original design has no filter on the large woofer, causing it to play full-range and reducing the woofer’s efficiency in the lower frequencies, while increasing its potential for distortion in the higher frequencies.

An optional 2nd-order high-pass filter is being offered for placement on the woofer. It is a very conservative filter that prioritizes affordability by using a fairly low inductance value (higher crossover point). the 1.5mH inductor selected will allow the large driver to still play well into the mid-range bass, and the capacitor added in a shunt position, sharpens the dropoff at the upper crossover point.

You can choose to purchase only the two high-quality capacitor pairs (to replace the original electrolytic capacitors) or can also add the 2nd-order filter for the larger low-frequency driver.
